What is BBL?

Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is the processing and injection of fat from areas such as the abdomen, waist, back, or arms into the buttock region. The result is a holistic silhouette — surrounding lines are slimmed and the buttock becomes more defined.

Redefines not only the buttock — but the waist, back, and all body contours.

For safety, injection is performed subcutaneously and supra-muscularly, not intramuscularly (per current clinical guidelines). This approach makes BBL both safe and natural-looking.

II
Techniques

Method selection.

The most suitable technique for the patient is selected among the main approaches below:

01

Classic BBL

Standard fat transfer. Focused on volume and contour.

02

VASER BBL

High-quality fat harvest combined with VASER liposuction. Smoother result.

03

Hi-Def BBL

Waist creation + muscle line definition — athletic silhouette.

III
Candidates

Who is a candidate?

The ideal candidate has sufficient fat reserves and wishes to enhance their buttock contour.

  • Those with sufficient fat reserves (very thin patients are not suitable)
  • Good general health
  • Preserved skin elasticity
  • Those seeking to improve waist-to-hip ratio
  • Non-smokers or able to quit

Note: BBL involves sitting restrictions for the first 6–8 weeks — your work and lifestyle must accommodate this.

IV
Recovery

Process timeline.

First 2 weeks

Sitting restriction. Lying on stomach or side. Corset use.

Weeks 2 – 6

Short sitting with BBL cushion. Light walking encouraged.

Weeks 6 – 8

Free sitting. Full return to social life.

Months 3 – 6

Permanent portion of transferred fat becomes clear (typically 60–70% remains).

Frequently Asked Questions

Common queries.

How much fat remains permanent? +
60–70% of transferred fat is permanent. The rest is absorbed by the body in the first 3 months. Planning is done accordingly.
Why is sitting restricted? +
In the first weeks, the transferred fat needs to establish blood supply. Sitting pressure can disrupt this process.
How large can I go? +
Limited by body fat reserves. Naturalness is always prioritised — exaggerated results are not targeted.
Can a second session be needed? +
Possible if fat reserve is insufficient or greater volume is desired — usually 6 months later.
Is it painful? +
Mild pain and bruising occur at liposuctioned areas. The BBL area itself is usually painless.
