Blepharoplasty is the surgical correction of excess skin, fat, and loosened muscle in the upper or lower eyelids. It may be performed for aesthetic reasons as well as functional ones (sagging that limits the visual field).
The eye is the most expressive part of the face — its rejuvenation transforms the whole face.
In upper blepharoplasty, the incision is placed within the natural lid crease; in lower blepharoplasty, just below the lash line or inside the lid (transconjunctival). Scars become nearly invisible in a short time.
